Qualities of a Good Conflict Resolver

Whether you are man or woman, intrapersonal and interpersonal traits, one of five i's of persuasion, indicates how mature a person is. Some of the interesting traits of a mature person is summarized using an easy-to-recall mnemonic, MOTIVATE that stands for:

• Mistakes
• Others
• Taboo Words
• Intimacy
• Voice
• Acceptance
• Thankfullness
• Environment conscious

He Tracks his Mistakes

It is an intrapersonal skill. Once a conflict resolver senses that an undesired or unexpected results occur from his actions, he quickly identifies it and tries to correct it. And, he also tracks his actions to avoid such behavior in the future.

For example, when wife is upset on her husband’s behavior, husband, who is a conflict resolver, must identify his actions and should try to quickly resolve it by changing his behavior.

He Takes Every Step Keeping Others in Mind

Considering Others’ feelings, emotions, beliefs and opinions is one of the admiring traits of a mature person

For example, when a customer is shouting at the manager in the business meeting, the manager, who is a gentleman, would proactively listen so that he can solve the issue rather than shouting back at the customer.

One Quality of a Mature Person is to Accept People

People are not only come from different backgrounds, cultures, traditions and customs but also from different human categories such as age, gender, and sex. A gentleman will be aware of this diversity and molds his personality by being flexible, adaptable and adjustable to various kinds of people he comes across in his lifetime.

For example, a gentleman should adapt himself to understand and accept his wife well as his mother, who come from different generations, and accept them without being judgmental about their behaviors.

Being Thankulfness is his Manners

Being grateful to others who helped him in his growth and success is one the qualities of a gentleman.

For example, he would always remember to wish his high school teacher "happy birthday" every year as a token of thanks.

A Modern Gentleman would be Conscious about the Environment

From littering to recycling, a gentleman would take curious steps in applying environmental friendly practices in every action he does and every decisions he takes.
